as that is what I used to shorten Revell's 1/429 scale USS Arizona to make the shorter hulls of the Wyoming, Texas & Nevada classes for my OBB thread?

I own both the Paramount 1:400 scale Tone & the Hobby 1:400 scale Chikuma and have just realized that the hulls of these kits are actually 1:384 in scale. It seems that rather than mold new, shorter Tone class hulls they decided to re-use the hulls of the longer Mogami class. At the very least, it appears that all shared parts between their kits of the Tone & Mogami classes were scaled in 1:400. I can’t tell if the parts that were more unique to the Tone class are scaled to 1:400 or 1:384 - so much for scale accuracy and fidelity!
My choices are to:
1)ignore the hull error (which means that the Tone’s are about 1’ longer than they should be)
2) assemble and then cut the hull somewhere in the middle to remove the excess length
3)commission someone to make 3d printed hulls for these kits.
FYI, I am not replacing them with 1:350 scale kits because I own over 100 WWII warships in 1:400 scale.
Any suggestions?
