I ordered a 1/350 USS Nevada 1944-45 fit SS Model kit back in October and still haven’t received it. They sent me a set of 3D printed 1/350 figures as a placeholder. I’ve reached out twice and been told they’ll ship the Nevada when it’s ready. At this point it’s too late for me to ask for a refund from eBay it seems.
I started a thread here a week or so ago about the Globaltoy and SSModel 3D-printed ship kits from China advertised on eBay. I ordered the SSModel full-hull French battleship Bretagne on January 3. Two months later, it had not been shipped, so I emailed them asking for information. SSModel replied to me within a day ---in Chinese! Using GoogleTranslate I was able to discern that nothing had been shipped yet; I notified eBay and they contacted the seller, then notified me that I would receive a full refund, which indeed followed within two days. My other 3D-orinted kit, the Globaltoy Japanese heavy cruiser Furutaka, arrived within three weeks of placing the order. I've already discussed its build on this forum; it's nearly complete, the only difficult (and tedious) part was applying my aftermarket brass strips to the main deck's linoleum surface (which has narrow raised lines for guidance), and I had to replace the mainmast (warped and too fragile -- bends very easily and wouldn't hold a straight shape) with a brass one. I'm generally satisfied with the model but have noted that it seems to have been engineered to duplicate imagery of this ship from the War Thunder video game website, so there may be some accuracy issues. I'm uncertain as to which 3D-printed model I'll order next; still thinking about the USS Colorado, or perhaps the HMS Furious.
