This item comes with #11 blades and collets. It is basically a soldering iron, unfortunately no on/off switch on the tool . It has to be unplugged and set aside to cool.
I tried it out on very fine 3D connecting sprues and it melts/cuts through the sprues with no jarring in a second or two. It will go through the prints cradles but that takes minutes not seconds as in finer sprues. I would recommend air ventilation for the fumes.
The # 11 blade does turn black with heat and may warp but you can always buy more through Excel.
I always plan my cuts. Remove those sprues first which will not cause stress to very fine detail such as gunner seats, foot stops, masts and gun sights. Those attachment sprues go last.
It works for me for $20.00 bucks.
