Yes, I've found it does get easier the more I've used Lycra threads (350 & 700 scales).
I use Zap a Gap to attach the rigging etc.
I use nail clippers to trim excess length.
In confined spaces I've found it easier to attach the lines before assembling the component to the model ship - such as flag boxes.

I am patient, very much so.
But knocking of my main mast on my 1:70O NING HAI with a #11 blade & handle while trying to thread rigging, frankly, makes me wonder if it gets better or has forced any of you to question it's worth and have moved on as a result to pastures anew (or old) ?
Looks great- a given. But the effort required ? Worth it or not in your eyes ?
