When I was building my 1/240 HMS Campbeltown, I was discussing with a WR some issues on camo and structures. He seemed to take great interest in my construction, and we were discussing and exchanging info and pics for some weeks (I was honestly impressed with his knowledge), until somebody had pity on me and kindly informed me who I was discussing with, i.e., who WR actually was.
He was kind enough as to send me a full unreleased, inmense plan (3x2 feet) he was drawing for one of his next books.
To say I felt honoured is to say very little.
His monographies on battleships and cruisers have always been a reference, a kind of modelling Bible for me.
Fair winds, my dear Mr.Raven. Thanks for many, many, many hours of knowledge and fun.
