Lovely picture. In the background is either the ALASKA (CB-1) or GUAM (CB-2). It depends on when the photo was taken. After February 1945, both ships were in MS 12. The ALASKA had a MS 3X scheme in the fall of 1944. GUAM had a similar pattern when she deployed to the Pacific, but it was painted into MS 12 at PHNY in February 1945.
