FYI, CVA-59 lost her fwd sponsons (and guns) during her late 61 overhaul.
It would appear that she gained her J-79 shop during that yard period as well. A3J-1s did CarQuals on Forrestal in the late 50s, but wouldn't deploy until RVAH-11 following her 66-67overhaul, which presumably removed her J-57 shop as she used F-8s and RF-8s until 1966.

While she was still configured with all eight 5inch guns, what types of aircraft did she operate? I have the Detail&Scale book but cannot establish what she may have carried while in this configuration. I have Monogram kit in this configuration but the aircraft include Phantom II's, Skyhawks and Vigilanties. I don't think this is correct as the front sponsons and guns were removed by the time the F4 went into service. Help!
