I decided to add a new topic for these comments since it’s been awhile from the original post. I finally received my 1/350 USS Wyoming from SS models and it’s gorgeous. I have taken a number of photos but I can’t figure out how to post them. If your interested I could send them to you personally.I will only comment on the quality of the parts not their accuracy or placement of parts as I will need to do a deeper dive. I compared the kit to my 1/350 1920s Arizona and it appears to lineup to the length and width similarities and differences between the two. The 3d pieces are amazing in quality. The 3” and 5” barrels are printed and amazingly thin, they even have printed the bow anchor links from where they come out on the deck to the anchors themselves. The bridge and cage mast is one piece and must be seen to really appreciate it. The ship’s boats appear fairly accurate. The catapult and cranes likewise one piece and also appear accurate. The kit includes two what appear to be Vought VE-7G seaplanes which I believe are correct for the timeframe , they are also very finely detailed in one piece! The main 12” Mark 7 guns look right with the placement of the two gun directors, they have included metal barrels for the main guns and also the 5 inch casement secondary guns. They have included a smaller section of chain for use, I believe, with the stern mounted starboard anchor with is nicely molded on the hull. In face there are really only two complainants I have on the whole kit. The first is there is a bit of a warp of the hull which I don’t think will be a problem when I mount it on a wooden stand. The second is a problem pretty much everybody has noted before, there are no instructions or even images included in the kit. Now for this model it won’t be a problem since there really aren’t that many total pieces and I have enough reference material to place those pieces there are. Originally I was going to convert this to the AG-17 but the 1920 version parts are just to nice to discard. So I have decided to build as is and this will force me to build my Iron Shipwright’s 1921 USS Arizona since I bought from Commanders their new 3d printed 1921 USS Arizona fittings.
