Regarding replacement wood decks, the short answer is that as of this writing, no aftermarket wood deck is likely to fit our 3D-printed boat deck for one very good reason: our deck's shape matches the shape of the real ship's deck. Plastic kits' decks do not.
This means that our deck is shaped differently than the decks found in plastic kits. So, aftermarket wood decks designed to fit inaccurately shaped plastic kit decks will not fit our accurately shaped deck.
Our Arizona boat deck is designed from scans of the real ship's actual construction drawings for maximum accuracy in shape and detail. No injection-molded plastic Arizona kit's boat deck shape we have seen matches the shape of the real ship's deck as shown in the real ship's construction drawings. This includes kits by Banner, Dragon, Eduard, Hobby Boss, Mini Hobby Models, and Revell. They are all wrongly shaped to some degree.
Aftermarket wood decks are typically designed to closely fit a specific plastic kit's deck and therefore wood decks are shaped accordingly. Since injection-molded kits' decks are differently shaped than our accurately shaped and detailed 3D-printed deck, aftermarket wood decks are not likely to fit our 3D-printed deck.
We recommend painting our accurately shaped and detailed deck.
Hope this helps and kind regards!
