Hi All,

I'm assembling that Atlantis 1/3X0 Forrest Sherman kit. It's worth all of $20.

The wikipedia page says the Forrest Shermans were all retired from the USN in the early to mid-80. No real mention of how the sailors felt about the ships. The upgrades to the ASW was fair as was the conversion to DDGs. However, the ships used steam plants and that may have been why none survived in service past 1988.

Anybody know of books - asides from Dr. Friedman - on the subject? Thanks.
