Speaking to steel; my copy of the book on Iowa class ship’s armor shipped today. Having spent a great deal of time on USS Iowa I look forward to getting a better understanding of her protection scheme. Thanks for the effort in authoring this book.

Being more of a steel person, I was wondering if anyone here might be able to answer a carbon fiber question.

Intuitively to me, it seems that the compression strength of a carbon fiber tube would come from the resin.

Is that the case?
