... and spent a good part of the evening reading through it. I agree it is a must-have reference for between-the-war US Naval aircraft colors. The section on battleship unit colors in the late-20s took a couple of reads to digest. The color plates with float colors, division marks, and second unit bands was instructive and helpful The colorful period up to and including the standardization of tail colors, chevron and cowl colors, and the like in the 30s is covered. This is a must-have for models of the battleship and cruiser forces of the 20s and thirtys.
I have a resin Vought O2U Corsair I. I need to dig it out of the stash. I see a West Virginia bird with blue & yellow float and the red/white/blue/yellow division flag on the stabilizer
