I think SanDiegoShipMan was referring to Graf Spee's 3 twin 105 mm's.
According to all I have read about River Plate, Graf Spee's 5.9" guns made absolutely no hits. I don't know about hits by the British 4" guns.
A question I'd like the experts on this board to answer; during the River Plate battle, I know that GRAF SPEE's main battery did virtually all of the damage, with the secondary 5.9" guns not doing that well. My question...did the British cruisers ever approach close enough for the 4.1" guns to engage them and if so, did those guns score any hits or were they silent throughout the battle?
