Thanks for this. It seems that both kits have slightly different dimensions, so do they align nicely? Are there any other pitfalls that you can warn me about. The vac-u-form base for my 1942 kit is mangled and some pieces have broken off. I'm hoping that I can fix them the inside & fill in any remaining gaps.
