For information about the U-Boat Pens take a look at Schiffer publications in their catalogue under Naval they make a book called German U-Boat Bunkers Yesterday and Today(1999) by Karl Heinz and Michael Schmeelke,Schieffer Publications,1999
ISBN 0-7643-0786-X. Costs $9.95.It has photos ,drawings,technical data on them,how many were built. If you can't buy it try the public library
book exchange program to get it.

Can't help with your specific question, but experience of building dio's (for 1/1200 waterline warship display)I think the most important thing is to build it on a dead flat surface / base board that will not distort .

I have managed to get my paint-stained hands and glue conjoined fingers on both the 1942 & 1943 sets. I'm thinking of joining them together in one massive display and am wondering if this is even feasible. Has anyone tried this?
I would also like to add a pair of Heller S-Boats and maybe one of their Type 35 minesweepers to "busy it" up a bit.
I'm new to this (dioramas) so if anyone has built either of these sets could you be so kind as to share your experience & offer any tips?
