To get the interior color to be visible through the canopy, I paint the bottom of the plane with the interior color. Have never taken the time to experiment with painting just the bottom of the 1/700 fuselage or painting the bottom of the wings too. I know there is some Physics theory about edge-lighting in play here, but given that just painting the whole bottom in interior color, it is quicker and just a stroke of the paint brush.
Yes, I agree that clear plastic is more brittle. And I agree that either masking the canopy or carefully painting around the canopy is a pain, but I kine the clear planes and wish more were available.

BOY, Who came up with the idea of making clear plastic planes??
And How do you paint them?? I getting ready to prime them, But, if I remember, I heard that you would paint them an interior color firs ( the whole plane? ) then paint the base color of the plane.
OH, I deal with 1/700 planes.
