And boats that aren’t renamed don’t also suffer misfortune? Their owners don’t sometimes go bankrupt or get sick? Happens every day and the boat name (or name) is irrelevant.

Every boat that I've ever know personally that was renamed brought subsequent bad luck to it's then owners.

The worst case was back in 1991 when new owners to a newly renamed Fly Bridge cruiser crashed into a partially submerged shipping container and sank.

I've also known people who went bankrupt after renaming their vessel. And strange sudden onset of illness, and misfortune.

I'm truly concerned for the crew and family of this renamed CG.

Why couldn't they use the new name for a new build?
