Suspect the logic (if one can call it that) is that as Chancellorsville was a Confederate victory that this somehow glorifies slavery in some way - of course as you point out, this move denigates the sacrifices of the Union soldiers who fought and died here (a lost battle does not diminish their sacrifice for a just cause).
