My father in law (now deceased) served on NEW MEXICO and MISSISSIPPI in the Atlantic and Pacific from July 1941 to July 1942. When I asked him about the color of the battleships his reply was simply “Battleship Gray.”

I was hoping that you guys can help me with a dilemma that I'm having,I would like to know before WWII December 6th what was the color of the USS Arizona as well as after December 7th?
I guess,what I'm asking is also,is there books with color plates to show the transformation of USN Battleships thru out WWII?
