Agree about the messy pia so I limit it to only special internal cases such as attaching the flat weights to the wl plates and spot reinforcement of internal ribs/spacers that are assembled with plastic cement. Steve Previous Message
2 - part epoxy glue. But it can be messy and a pain in the ass to use. Previous Message
I need to find a fluid adhesive for assembly of ship model kits which are basically injection molded plastic with some after market parts of resin, typical 3D materials and/or white metal castings (BUT NOT PE) as found today. You all know who supplies these and all are easy to work with as far as trimming and shaping, etc.
My specs for this fluid adhesive:
Compatible with all those basic materials
Not water based type
Not super glue type
Not a typical plastic glue
Slow enough drying (to permit repositioning parts
before setting)
Must have initial adhesion for parts placement
Can be in a tube or bottle container
Can be air drying or uses an accelerant
Can be UV setting to complete drying
Have a reasonable shelf life without curing
Can be a home brew or available in a retail store
or on-line.
Does not aggressively attack solvent based painted
parts.
Must be safe to use in ventilated areas as are most plastic or solvent based adhesives.
