USN cooperated in the making of Caine Mutiny and not in The Bedford Incident yet the former was more critical of the Navy.
Think of it in the same vein as "On the Beach" or "Fail Safe" rather than a critique of the Navy.
A British warship is used for the interior/exterior scenes. The model ship scenes appears as American type. Cannot tell which not my area. 1954's Caine Mutiny appeared to me more critical of the US Navy than Bedford Incident which is from 1965.
