Re: Very Fire Detail Up Set for HMS Ark Royal
You can minimise the chances of damaging the deck immediately around the island by scoring around it very carefully before removal.
I've put this project aside for several months, but hope to restart it soon -- reworking my 1/350 HMS Ark Royal (as built OOB) with the extensive Very Fire resin and photoetch set I purchased online over a year ago. I still have to decide what new parts to ignore because their installation would mean too much destruction or dismantling of the current model, without necessarily allowing for repairs that could obscure the resulting "improvements" (e.g., I'd have to cleanly break off the bridge from the flight deck and then reinstall it without incurring obvious flight deck scarring).
What modelling projects are on your benches/tables?
I'm keeping busy converting Revell's Aida cruise ship into a "Fast Combat Support Ship" loosely based on the USN SUPPLY class.
Copious amounts of Evergreen styrene is being used.
I can post some photos soon as it's nearly finished.
