BINGO ... Damen Sea Axe Yacht Support Vessel
I don't know how many have been built, but the surprise to me is that this is a SUPPORT VESSEL FOR YACHTS!!!
I found a photo of the same one or one painted in the same scheme.
Looks like an axe bow boat. Hull designed to reduce slamming.
While on an Alaska Cruise this month, I saw this boat arrive in port at Ketchikan. It isn't a fishing boat, and didn't look like the more glamorous "yachts" in port. The unusual hull design is noticeable and is well equipped with radars and I assume satellite antennas. You can't tell from this view, but this boat has a fairly narrow beam compared to the other boats around it. The unusual paint job was striking. I assume she is someone's "yacht", but no idea of how common this type is.
The smaller boat in the background isn't on this larger boat.
I have never seen this type of boat before, can someone say who builds these and does this style of "yacht" have a name?
