The 80' ELCOs had planked decks through PT383. From 486 on, they were plywood. In neither case did they have an outer covering of fabric. Previous Message
Seeing as the canvass was factory applied, and was stretched real tight and glued down, maybe the impression of the planking was visible through the canvass. Previous Message
SO I know there are a lot of PT experts that visit here... I wanted to know what the thought is on the 109's deck. I've read that they were covered in canvas and that the deck should be sanded away on the kits... but I've seen this image and I can clearly see the deck lines. Granted this might have been before the boat made it to the Pacific, but I don't think they'd have applied the canvas there.. seems like more of a factory activity
than something done in the field.
What do folks here think?
