I recently received an interesting email from a gentleman in Hungary who wanted to commission me to build a 1/350 scale model of the SMS Viribus Unitis, on which his grandfather had served (and survived, when the ship was sunk by Italian frogmen at the end of World War I). I wouldn't want to build the Combrig model of this ship again but thought that the newer Trumpeter model, with wood deck and gun barrel upgrades, might be a possibility. How would you address the issue of payment? The completed model (including rigging) would be packaged inside a plexiglass display case and bolted to a flat wooden base, but has anyone out there had experience safely shipping such a model overseas, and in what condition did it arrive? Thanks in advance for your input.
