Gerald Ford yet to be operational with Doris Miller and new Enterprise at risk of similar disfunction, and three major surface combatant program fails in a row is simply appalling.

Hopefully, this will be the WTF moment needed to institute dramatic change. We can only hope that the problems (and solutions) are correctly identified so that meaningful changes and corrections can be quickly adopted.

One wonders why there doesn't seem to be any flag officer and senior service personnel firings over these repeat debacles.

Perhaps the bureaucracy has collapsed under its own weight. Maybe, it's unfixable. I hope not.
