The only brand that I knew of that was marketed as “Universal” was “Testors Universal Acrylic Paint Thinner” . I use it for both Testors acrylics and Polly Scale. Works great for those two brands of paint. No alcohol in it but then it doesn’t state what is in the bottle. I believe it is merely distilled water. Any matter it is long out of production discontinued when RPM did away with Testors
hobby paint line. It always best to use the thinner that is sold for the paint line you are using.
We had a poster sometime back who added alcohol to his Polly Scale and it it turned into gunk balls. Previous Message
1. Awhile back it was said that "universal" acrylic paint thinner is...Isoropo Something? Can't remember the name.
2. With USN carrier aircraft in the 1930's. What color would the cockpit be painted? Bare Aluminium?
Zinc Chromate Yellow? Or interior Green?
