...120 and 146 place a roughly NNE-to-SSW (030-210) operating line east of Rennell Island while reversing the radials place a NW-to-SE line somewhere to the west of Guadalcanal forcing the CVEs to run across the Slot and over Santa Isabel island while on patrol...not very likely.
Suwanee's navigator is citing bearings FROM Rennell Island and Henderson Field. My guess is that this line is about 30 miles or so from Chicago's sinking position. It would be nice to see her wreck rediscovered.
