I Second, what Steve says....
I don't, tried to spray a primer on my PE but never 'liked it'.
MayBe, I'll do it for my 350 models and spray a primer.
BUT, as far as 700 scale I have been happy with results and paint adhering to PE straight from a can or an airbrush. What I do, do, is spray with a final 'Coat' at the end....just before adding radio wires or signal flag lines.
I only build 1/700 scale, but use a great deal of PE. I do no preparation other than spray it with a rattle can. In 20+ years of using PE, I have never had any paint issues.
I've almost exclusively used fine grit sanding paper & sanded in one direction, versus back n' forth, as to not damage parts.
I have the USS LANGLEY CV-1 in my posession (Loose Cannon, 1:700), which is making me re-think my sanding method for this kit....
Enter vinegar. How long to set brass (or stainless) in vinegar to get some "tooth" into the surface ? And how to wash it up afterward ? Is washing after vinegar even neccessary ?
Opinions are always greatly appreciated- and have a great weekend, all y'all !! From me all to you all, y'all....🚬😎
