In terms of prepping any photo etch prior attaching it to the model I may wipe the frets down with Turps using a lint free cloth if I can feel or see that the fret looks oily.
Mostly, I just spray the fret with paint using my airbrush, allowing to dry off for a day or so before attaching to the model.
No issues doing it for years this way and I note the differing ways other modellers prep their PE which I may try out. Previous Message
I've almost exclusively used fine grit sanding paper & sanded in one direction, versus back n' forth, as to not damage parts.
I have the USS LANGLEY CV-1 in my posession (Loose Cannon, 1:700), which is making me re-think my sanding method for this kit....
Enter vinegar. How long to set brass (or stainless) in vinegar to get some "tooth" into the surface ? And how to wash it up afterward ? Is washing after vinegar even neccessary ?
Opinions are always greatly appreciated- and have a great weekend, all y'all !! From me all to you all, y'all....🚬😎
