I just wash the PE sheet with dishwashing liquid. Most PE is attached to the model with Micro-mark Detail Tack, reinforced with Super Glue in some cases (railings). Then the entire model is primed with Tamiya Fine Surface Primer prior to painting and final detailing.

I've almost exclusively used fine grit sanding paper & sanded in one direction, versus back n' forth, as to not damage parts.
I have the USS LANGLEY CV-1 in my posession (Loose Cannon, 1:700), which is making me re-think my sanding method for this kit....
Enter vinegar. How long to set brass (or stainless) in vinegar to get some "tooth" into the surface ? And how to wash it up afterward ? Is washing after vinegar even neccessary ?
