A lot of the documents referenced are using file codes and serial numbers but are based on my ship camouflage page here . At the time I started it, I didn't really give enough weight to naming the documents or links in a systematic way and there were some that I didn't quite have enough experience at the time to understand how to best reference or cite them. Consequently other sites (wikipedia and the Warship camouflage Facebook group run in part by Jeff Herne, who worked on this graphic with Jamie Duff from Sovereign Hobbies among them) reference them in a way that can be confusion or at times a bit erroneous.

This is my fault.

S19 was the file code for ships paint and S19-7 was the sub code for camouflage, which was where a lot of this documentation was filed. The "April 19th JJ52 memo (actually looks like it was April 1st on my site ) was filed under "JJ52, which was "material" instead of paint. These are little details and pedantic, as I said, but it doesn't help clarify things when people start off with a somewhat confused foundation, and I apologize for my part in that.

I've since expanded the titles on my main page in the hopes it will give people a better understanding of how those documents fit in to the flow of Navy communication and why some might have been confidential or not or where they were found and why.
