Hi, Iím a Canadian smoke boat submariner. No we do not carry hydrogen but there can be a build up of it from the batteries. Onboard we use hydrogen eliminators ( which are fixed) .
I was reading of a submarine being scrapped postwar suffering an explosion from onboard hydrogen tanks. I was thinking if these were from the scrapping crew for cutting or if hydrogen carried on board for welding?
Primarily a diesel boat question.
Maybe even applicable to surface ships?
