Re: Revell merchant vessel.
If you are looking for more work I have the Revell Argentina and Hawaiian Pilot kits you could buy. Albion52(at)Mac.com
Here is my very recently assembled model of the M.V. Benledi merchant vessel, from Revell - 440 scale.
M.V. Benledi formerly of the Ben line, hails from the mid 1960's and is described as a Cargo Liner. An interesting concept passenger travel on a freight vessel rather than a luxo cruise ship or liner.
The Ben line has named it's fleet after famed Scottish mountains. How neat is that.
Another build from my ever decreasing stash of kits - unfortunately I've not many left. The kit was saying "Sir, Please Build Me!!".
This Revell kit must surely have been over 40 years of age, but had been well stored over that time meaning the decals just slipped on fine and did not break up or were discoloured in any way.
It went together well. I used Humbrol enamels, Tom's Modelworks railing, and Infini lycra rigging for the various cranes.
A nice touch from Revell is a cargo cover can be removed to reveal inside the hold. This ain't no container ship but a "break bulk" vessel.
My camera appears to show details too yellow.
I welcome critique.
I'm always on the lookout for more of Revell's Merchant kits.
