That was just the best set of plans I could find. They were adopted from a conventional iron-hulled freighter.
As for it being a 'river' transport, the Yangste is a a pretty big river. Ocean-going ships made itas least as far as Nanking. The superstructure may have been built up for passenger trade, and the safety rules not as stringent as western ocean going ships.
the model hull appears more steel than wood, and while the structure looks oversized, IFF it had been converted as a river boat, bearing in mind the size of the river, all that structure is possible, one extra deck doubles the number of "premium" cabins????
i still have not started it as i got so involved try to find what it actually was life intervened and it got put into the stash and soon buried!
