Re: Meng’’s 1/150 ‘The Crossing’ SS Taiping
I am remembering that I had read that the set designers built something with movie-making uppermost in mind. While they certainly wanted it to look like a ship, and may even have had some sort of actual ship as their underlying model, what they built had things like extra wide decks and passageways to accommodate cameras and dollies, and multiple actors and film crew all together "comfortably."
So, yeah... The only rivet counting here would be if you wanted your model to come out exactly like the set.
I picked one of these kits when it was discounted a few years ago, and it's in my "someday" stash.
I would just build it essentially as an out-of-the-box kit, and just make it look as good as my skillset will allow.
I thought it was a neat looking kit, something out of the ordinary, and since the kit is based on a movie set, have fun with it!
