Re: Trumpeter 700 USS Rosevelt built as USS Carl Vinson.
The Trumpeter kit portrays the Roosevelt as she was at the time of the last F-14 Tomcat deployment, circa 2006. Consequently, the planes provided with the kit are "Tomcat-heavy," and lacking in other types you might want to add if you intend any sort of complete airwing representation.
You seem to have indicated you also have the Eisenhower kit? And that you intend closer to that time period? If so, you will need to kit bash, and you should consider the Eisenhower your "base point," and not the Roosevelt. The 2006 Roosevelt portrays a ship which had "evolved" considerably from the 1978 time frame.
I have the Rosevelt and would like to use it for the Vinson. Can I do this without ordering a hole new air wing. Any other major headaches involved. I am not a privet counter.....
I am going to look into it myself, I am just wondering if anyone has any quick thoughts.
