Already changed! Re: Hi, Jeff.....
All of them are now known as "Battleships"!
Moe, been thinking it's high time to change the descriptions of all current and future Warship types from those centuries yor - "Cruiser","Destroyer", "Frigate", "Corvette", "Submarine", "Littoral Combat Ship", etc. Really the Ford & Nimitz classes could also be called a "Destroyer" because they are so much more than a vessel that just carries planes. To simplify and make relevant in the 21st century - surface combatant could be just "Surface Combatant" whilst Subs just become "Underwater Combatant". Auxillary types just classified "Surface Logistics". I think tradition is beautiful though. What do you think Moe?
I have been following this for quite some time, but I Believe...it is called a 'Destroyer' but a 'Multi-purpose Destroyer', as far as the populace of Japan ( at least those like us model-builders ) think it is called an "A/C carrier"!!!
And, they are Just as excited as we are here in the States.
P.S. I'll try to find out more, sooner / later.
Is it now classed officially as a 'carrier' and not ...a 'destroyer' - was it?
