Re: Italian Battleship Caio Duilio- Thanks, Steve!
It's very nice indeed, complete with a comprehensive set of PE and brass gun barrels. There is very little flash and the detail on the main deck level looks very good. Overall I would compare its standards to e good Trumpeter kit, but short of a Flyhawk one.
How does the Orange Hobby kit look to you?
I have the 1/700 Orange Hobby Caio Duilio to built as next in line.
The kit portraits her as in 1941, after repairs post the Swordfish attack, Op JUDGEMENT, at Taranto on 11 November 1940. My wish is to portrait her the morning after the attack, with her bow on the bottom and the first of the rescue/repair ships alongside.
I am aware of her colour schemes; overall light grey before the attack without forecastle red/white striping and the post repair two-colour scheme of stylised arrows pointing fore and aft and with the red/white forecastle deck.
My area of lack of knowledge concerns her anti-aircraft fit. Everything I've found portraits her with an identical AA fit, pre and post attack, which I find difficult to believe.
Can anyone provide me with clarification and ideally plans. Many thanks.
