Re: Italian Battleship Caio Duilio
Also, look for the book on the Cavior and Duilio classes by Bagnasco. I haven't read it yet, but an e-reader version is available from Pen and Sword books. If it's anything like his book on the Veneto class, it will be prety comprehensive.
I have the 1/700 Orange Hobby Caio Duilio to built as next in line.
The kit portraits her as in 1941, after repairs post the Swordfish attack, Op JUDGEMENT, at Taranto on 11 November 1940. My wish is to portrait her the morning after the attack, with her bow on the bottom and the first of the rescue/repair ships alongside.
I am aware of her colour schemes; overall light grey before the attack without forecastle red/white striping and the post repair two-colour scheme of stylised arrows pointing fore and aft and with the red/white forecastle deck.
My area of lack of knowledge concerns her anti-aircraft fit. Everything I've found portraits her with an identical AA fit, pre and post attack, which I find difficult to believe.
Can anyone provide me with clarification and ideally plans. Many thanks.
