Your observation that 26008 seems too dark appears to be correct. If you have or can get a copy of FS-595 color chips, take a look at chip 261132. There's a small container of Deck Gray in the shop. It came from a volunteer on the (DD-793) USS Cassin Young. She's a museum ship, recently overhauled and repainted, sitting in the water at the Boston Navy Yard. The sample came while the deck was being painted before COVID began. Visually, 261132 seems a close match to the sample. Looking down on the deck from a platform on the tripod mast in bright sunlight, it appear somewhat lighter than the other chips. Only your eye can tell you how close it is to your other models. You can get a match if you mix your own paints, but there's no way to tell how close commercial modelers paints really get. There's not much point trying of send a picture over the computer because color matching that way is extremely difficult. Light conditions and weathering as well as the camera, make matching extremely difficult. Hope this is of some use.
