Certainly, both Australian and US officials are doing an amazing job under extremely difficult circumstances.
I did check with USPS personnel on Friday. The USPS representative confirmed that the temporary USPS suspension of First Class International Package Service from the US to Australia is real. USPS customers are asked to refrain from using this service to ship packages to Australia. Model Monkey is complying with this request.
Other USPS services to Australia remain operational.
The temporarily suspended USPS services are:
- First-Class Package International Service® (FCPIS®)
- Commercial ePacket (CeP)
- International Priority Airmail® (IPA®) packets
- International Surface Air Lift® (ISAL®)
USPS First Class International Package service is the service we use to ship packages to customers overseas. We use this service exclusively because it is the least costly delivery service available to us, yet has reasonable delivery times, and includes tracking. Since this service is temporarily suspended, we have reluctantly stopped accepting orders from our valued Australian customers until the suspension is lifted. We deeply regret the inconvenience and disappointment this causes our customers.
We also regret the loss in revenue as it is significant and hurts my family.
As soon as USPS lifts the restriction, we will resume accepting orders for delivery to Australian addresses and make an announcement stating so. We very much look forward to doing so.
As always, we extend our best wishes to all those harmed by Covid 19 in any way.
