I'm not seeing
Alaska in the photo. That cruiser to the right of the photo looks like a CL or maybe a Baltimore. The silhouette just seems too small for Alaska or Guam
Has to be a SUMNER class. Being a backlit photo, you can't see details or hull number, it is impossible to determine which unit this is.
The date has to be after 6 February 1945, when USS ALASKA (seen in the background) arrived for duty with TF 58. Three SUMNER class destroyer equipped DesRon's, 60, 61, and 62, were assigned to TF 58 at that time.
The caption states BB-62, December 1944 - Jan 1945. It looks like a Gearing or Allen M. Sumner class. I am building a 1/700 New Jersey by converting a Tamiya Iowa kit and would like to use this as my diorama.
