Re: Tamiya ' s 1/ 700 USS Bogue ; opinions ?
A recommendation with out any precision at all... I gave one to a man whose dad served on one of the class. He said his dad kept turning it and spinning it... He finally said things like "that is where we took smoking liberty"... "my station was here"... etc. His dad apparently did not put it down for an hour.
It built easily enough, though some parts are small, as you may imagine. I built it OOB, except for some Trumpeter TBMs for the folded wings... His dad noticed and thought I had included some A/C not actually deployed... lol
I think it is very clean and effective kit.
With all this good news about USS Sangamon in 1 / 700
.. let us remember a nice little kit I have not yet finished . . .
Do our learned brothers and sisters have any comments on this Last-Century jewel ?
How many different war-time ships can we build from it ?
Am I gullible, but do tell me how many faults are there inside the BOGUE box ?
I must find a colour scheme for one of the class which fought with CDR. Walker's Second Support Group, which sank so many u-boats ...
