Re: Battleship: the loss of the Prince of Wales and the Repulse/Middlebrook
Battleship is outstanding, but a very worthwhile account, largely forgotten today and with some inaccuracies, is Cecil Brown's Suez to Singapore, published in 1942. Brown was a US war correspondent embedded on the REPULSE. He photographed much of the action that day. He gives a "you are there" account of not only the sinking of REPULSE and PRINCE OF WALES, but the lead up to the sinking and the months in Singapore afterwards.

...& Mahoney. Is this still the best book on the subject? Osprey's newish Air Campaign by Angus Konstam received some damning reviews (lots of errors, factual and typos).
