This is an absolutely magnificent painting. You've captured the ship, the action, and the imminent moment just before immortality. Well done Sir! It is a remarkable work done of a remarkable, but tragic vessel. You may wish to consider issuing a limited series of prints. I would be interested in one.
Being 'East of the Suez' have you visited the New Zealand Navy Museum in Auckland? There is a series of paintings done by Chief Petty Officer Eddie Fitzgerald of the HMS New Zealand in the Great War. I assume it is not HMNZS as she was presented as a 'gift' to the RN. Anyway, he was the helmsman in the armored conn and witnessed the Battle of Heligoland Bight, the Dogger Bank and Jutland. The paintings reflect his accurate view of the battles from his unique perspective. The one showing Beatty's battle line as the Queen Mary explodes is particularly striking.
There are a number of major sea battles that I would like to see repainted by artists with an emphasis on accuracy. And it would be good to see them from either side.
All the best,
