I saw your message last week while on vacation and tried to respond, but it never posted from my phone.
I can easily make these, as I originally drew the master deck plan for Yorktown and Essex classes in 1:1 on autocad, and then had to make them fit the models! I already offer the Hornet deck in 1/200 and this whole thing started as I had a ruined piece and a customer paid me half for it so he could cut usable squares out for some of the extra planes he bought.
I can do them up to just shy of 4" wide, as that is the widest basswood plank I can source.
I have also printed decks for customers on the wall hanging wood blanks that Hobby Lobby sells, but they'd be too large for a realistic flight deck width.
(like this one: https://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Wood-Crafting/Unfinished-Wood/Circle-Wood-Shape/p/81038978)
A typical 1/144 deck I've done 'on demand' in the past was 6" x roughly 4" or 72' x 48', and can include most of an elevator if desired. Catapults can also be included, but in these larger scales the wood reportedly just 'doesn't look right' (said a customer) for the metal parts of either an elevator or catapult track. The tie-down strips are just something one has to accept, but I have printed a few of these small wood deck sections without them on request.
I usually sell the generic 6x4 sections for $10, and the 4x4 sections for $7, plus first class postage to keep the cost down. I can make class specific sections as well, as the CVEs & CVLs were all 80' wide or wider.
Please email me and let me know what ship class you want.
