are you leaving the mast cover off?
The radar is normally hidden on the LPDs behind the solid made structure.
I personnaly don't think there is enough difference between older versions and newer ones to worry about in 1/350 scale. If you were building a larger version, you might want to try and replicate the flat folded tube like make up of the antenna, but it's just too small to bother with in this scale.
I am building the 1/350 USS New York (LPD-21) and am wondering if there are any significant visual differences, in 1/350 scale, among the various incarnations of the SPS-48 radar antenna? I am hoping to use the GMM Modern USN set.
For those of you wondering the fit and finish of the Gallery kit is excellent so far. The well deck and hangar beg for serious detailing.
Not my skill level yet but there is always the Wasp!
