Good John... the others were...
FFG just to make your life simpler, and not 'Stress OUT!!'
on what the others are called.
But if "I" remember...I'm Certain, that WADSWORTH was a short hull ... Not sure when they started making OHP-class ships long"er" hull, but MCCLUSKY IS a long-hull version....able to carry the Mk III LAMPS ( SH-60 helo ). Most of the ships I was on carried only the Mk I ( SH-3 SeaSprite ).
I Think that the Mk II was the SH-2 SeaKing helo?? But I never saw those on my ships...too big, heavy, and we would have to 'lash it' on the deck...couldn't fit inside hanger.
Yes, I managed to find these:-
NASW WADSWORTH (FFG 9)
NMDK MCCLUSKY (FFG 41)
But drew blank on the others. Interesting about WADSWORTH, as that one was the first LAMPS 11 ship with the extended transom.
Good to hear about your service for Canada.
Cookie!!! And a promotion to E-4!!
No worries Steve, I was hoping John would have come up with answers but happy to Entertain ya!!
But, may "I" ask.....how did you find answers So Quickly??? I did this and it Took FOREVER for me to find answers, from another shipmate??
NVXR: USS Gray FF-1054
NDBD: USS Duncan FFG-10
NASW: USS Wadsworth FFG-9
NMDK: USS McClusky FFG-41
