Thanks Lars.... I was just 'fooling around' ... I understand that that image was a saluting gun. Seriously, I thought MayBe a practice loading gun.
Being a former USN Veteran I would like to see some of those Russian ships when they visited San Diego, CA a couple of decades ago. But you having access will do just fine!!!

The old gun on plate 14 is a salut gun.
The cruiser USS Normandy could be visited, but you can guess from the barbed wire and the MG on the truck in front of it that the security measures were very different. In case of the Russian ship, it was possible to simply walk on board and look around. To visit Normandy , it would have taken a lot of time to pass the security controls, so that there would have been not much time to visit any other ship. Here some photos - not taken on board:
